Comments: The stem is attested only in Chech. and is probably an old compound (for the first part, ʔā-, cf. PN *ʔārV 'plain, field'; thus āq̇ari < *ʔār-q̇arV).
Comments: Chech. orcχa is a development < *ʔārcu-ḳa (with a variant *-ḳa of the PN diminutive suffix *-ḳ). Length of vowel is determined on basis of Ing. ɔrc (reflecting *ʔārcu - probably the original oblique base in the paradigm *ʔārc,*ʔārcu-). 6th class in both languages.
The same root is present in the PN compound *duq̇-ārc 'stick for locking the yoke (*duq̇)' > Chech. duq̇arc, Ing. duq̇ɔrc.
Comments: 4th class in Chech., 3d class in Ing. Obl. base *ʔārʁe- (Chech. rēʁa-).
Nakh forms (at least Chech. raʁ) may be actually borrowed from Iranian, cf. Osset. raʁ 'mountain ridge' < *rāga- (Pers. rāɣ etc.), see Abayev 1973, 344. But most probably there was a merger of the genuine root and the Iranian loan.
Comments: Cf. also PN *ʔūrʎ > Chech., Ing. urh 'testiculi'. *ʔūrʎ and *ʔārʎi are probably historically parts of one paradigm: direct stem *ʔūrʎ, obl. stem (with regular Ablaut) *ʔārʎi-.
Comments: In Bacb. arl- is Kadagidze's notation; Matsiyev has arʎ-. A direct derivate from this verbal stem is PN *ʔārŁV: Chech. ēra 'threshing-floor; grain lying upon it', Ing. ɔrda-l 'sheaves ready for threshing; cattle working on the threshing-floor'.
Comments: 4th class in all languages (but 6th class in Ing. with the meaning 'stripe'). Obl. stem *ʔāsi- (Ing. äso, Bacb. pl. ase-rč). In Bacb. assŏ is the record of Imnaishvili; Matsiyev and Kadagidze have -s- (probably a misspelling). Cf. also Cheb. āso, Shar. ōso, Khild. ōsŏ, Ved., Itumk. āsa.
Comments: Bacb. reflects the form *ʔāχ-ni (with an old *-ni suffix); Chech. and Ing. reflect the further suffixation *ʔāχ-ni-ḳ (with diminutive *-ḳ). 3d class in Chech., Ing., 5th class in Bacb.
